There are several golf courses within easy reach of Grove House.
Skibbereen's own 18 hole course is well kept and offers very reasonable green fees.Tel: 21227.

Angling:
For the keen angler there is a choice of sea fishing (from boat or shore), game fishing for salmon or freshwater lake fishing.

Game Fishing:
The River Ilen is just 400m from our front gate and is a decent salmon river in spate. For licences and advice about best pools talk to Tony Kelly, the proprietor Fallons in North St. 028 22264

Lake Fishing:
Shepperton Lakes, about 3 miles from Skibbereen in the Cork direction offer brown trout, chubb and roach. Again, Tony at Fallons will sort out your licences and you can hire a boat from the water keeper at the lakes ( his house is signposted from the lake).

  Kayaking:
There are a variety of kayaking options available from Skibbereen under the expert guidance of Jim Kennedy (former Irish and British kayak champion). Jim offers half day trips, family trips and a super starlight/moonlight adventure.
