Location

Both Grove House and Riverbank Cottage and Barn are situated 1-2 miles respectively from the colourful town of Skibbereen. The town of Skibbereen is a traditional West Cork market town. Its' colourful shops are complimented by a good selection of pubs and restaurants and many of the pubs feature live music during the week and at weekends. The beauty of Skibbereen is that it is recognised as the 'hub' of West Cork.  Travel a few miles in any direction from Skibbereen and you are treated to a delight in scenery, places to visit and things to do. Click here for 'things to do'.

For the active visitor you can choose between golf, angling (coarse, game and sea), horse-riding, sailing, diving, kayaking or just enjoying the fresh air of this wonderful part of Ireland.
 
For the more relaxed visitor there are the beaches, lakes, forests and well known fishing villages of Baltimore, Schull, Glandore and Castletownshend - all boasting their own charm along with top restaurants and pubs.

Directions to Grove House

We ask all guests staying at Grove House or Riverbank to check-in at Grove House. Riverbank is 5 minutes drive from Grove House.

Grove House is situated just 1 mile from the colourful town of Skibbereen - 20 minutes walk or 3 minutes by car. The Main House is surrounded by a grove of trees in 2 acres of gardens which gives us peace and quiet but retaining a close proximity to town.

From either the Cork direction or Schull direction, take the new by-pass at the entrance to town - do not go into town. Follow the signs to HOSPITAL (the only turn-off from the by-pass and the road to Bantry and Drimoleague ) and we are 1/2 mile past the Hospital on the right hand side. Look for white walls and railings with the name Grove House- you can't see the house from the road as we have a long driveway.
